Yakubu Dogara, has urged President Bola Tinubu to prioritize oil drilling at the Kolmani oil well, saying it would guarantee him massive northern support in the 2027 elections.
Speaking to journalists in Bauchi over the weekend, Dogara stated that if Tinubu revives oil exploration in Bauchi State and approves the Bagel Dam project, he wouldn’t need to campaign in the state. “We will all vote for him,” he declared.
The Kolmani Integrated Development Project, launched by former President Muhammadu Buhari, is Nigeria’s first inland oil exploration venture, located between Bauchi and Gombe States.
The initiative aims to boost the country’s energy resources and stimulate economic development in the region, potentially creating thousands of jobs.
The project includes an oil refinery, a gas processing facility, a power plant, and a fertilizer production unit, making it a key industrial investment.
Dogara’s remarks highlight the political significance of the project, as northern leaders push for its activation to drive regional growth and electoral influence.
