Nigeria’s women’s basketball coach, Rena Wakama, has been named Best Basketball Coach by the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA).
The prestigious award recognizes Wakama’s leadership and tactical brilliance, particularly during the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where she guided D’Tigress to a historic quarterfinal finish.
The 33-year-old coach will receive the award at a special ANOCA ceremony during its Elective General Assembly in Algiers, Algeria, from March 15 to March 17, 2025.
