By Mrs. Blessing Adagba, Coordinator of Ngbo Central Development Centre, has regained her freedom in Ohaukwu, Ebonyi State.
Adagba was kidnapped by gunmen in the early hours of April 4, sparking widespread security concerns in the community and leaving her family traumatized.
A family source confirmed that the abductors demanded ransom, but it remains unclear if any payment was made before her release on Tuesday night.
The Ebonyi State Governor’s Special Assistant on Internal Security, Hon. Tobias Ogbonna, confirmed the development but did not disclose if a ransom was involved.
Reports indicate that the kidnappers, dressed in military camouflage, stormed Adagba’s residence and forcibly took her away after she resisted opening her door.
Community leaders have decried rising insecurity in Ohaukwu, urging the government and security agencies to take urgent action against kidnappings, killings, and cult activities in the area.
