Edo Governor Visits Kano Over Hunters’ Killings

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has paid a condolence visit to Kano State following the brutal murder of 16 hunters in Uromi, Edo State.

His visit comes amid growing outrage in northern Nigeria over the killings, allegedly carried out by a vigilante group. Speaking at the Kano Government House, Okpebholo expressed deep shock and vowed justice for the victims.

“The perpetrators of this heinous act will not go unpunished. Fourteen suspects have been arrested, and investigations are ongoing,” he said.

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf demanded the immediate prosecution of all suspects and urged the Edo government to compensate the victims’ families.

“This tragedy must not be overlooked. We expect prompt justice and adequate compensation,” Yusuf stated.

Okpebholo assured the public that violence against any group would not be tolerated and pledged a transparent investigation into the killings.
