Edo SUBEB Boss Condemns School Vandalism

The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Barrister Onomen Briggs, has raised concerns over the rising cases of vandalism and attacks on public school properties.

Speaking on Monday, Briggs urged community leaders, parents, and guardians to take responsibility for safeguarding school facilities in their areas.

She emphasized that securing public schools is a collective duty and called on communities to report any suspicious activities around school premises.

“These reprehensible acts not only jeopardize the future of our children but also undermine the collective efforts of the government and stakeholders in providing quality education,” she stated.

Briggs warned that attacks on schools are attacks on the state’s future, stressing that those responsible will be identified and prosecuted.

The government, she assured, remains committed to ensuring safe learning environments and will intensify efforts to curb these destructive incidents.
