By Former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai has assured political opponents that the recent visit by Atiku Abubakar and former governors to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna was not politically motivated.
El-Rufai, who accompanied Atiku, Aminu Tambuwal, Gabriel Suswam, and Achike Udenwa, described the gathering as a post-Sallah courtesy visit focused on brotherhood and unity, not the 2027 elections.
“By the way, our adversaries should not lose any sleep. It is not about politics,” he wrote on Facebook, dismissing speculation about a political alliance.
The visit comes after El-Rufai’s defection from the APC to the SDP, fueling discussions on opposition realignments ahead of 2027.
