Former Enugu State IPAC chairman, Barrister John Nwobodo, has predicted that Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will not enjoy the same level of support in the 2027 election.
In an interview with Pulsewireng in Enugu, Nwobodo stated, “I do not see Peter Obi commanding as much followership and influence as he did in 2023.”
He attributed this to internal leadership crises within the Labour Party, which he believes have weakened the party’s appeal among supporters.
According to him, the party’s lack of grassroots structure was evident in its failure to provide polling unit agents nationwide during the last election.
Nwobodo expressed concerns that ongoing instability could further erode Labour Party’s influence before the next election cycle.
Despite Obi’s popularity in 2023, he suggested that a fractured party may struggle to sustain momentum ahead of 2027.
