Fake VIO Arrested in Adamawa for Job Scam, Impersonation

Police in Adamawa have arrested a man posing as a Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO) for allegedly defrauding job seekers and impersonating a government official.

The suspect, identified as Face Samuel of Army Barracks Road, Yola-North, was apprehended on April 22 after credible intelligence revealed his fraudulent activities. He is accused of collecting ₦350,000 from multiple victims under the false promise of securing them employment with the state’s Ministry of Transportation.

Victims named include Blessing Kefas, Abel Samuel, Evlyne Amos, and Friday Adamu. Police say Samuel admitted to the crime and disclosed that the VIO uniform he used was supplied by an unidentified accomplice, now under investigation.
