FCT Police Commissioner Orders Raids on Criminal Hotspots

CP Ajao Adewale, has directed all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) under his command to conduct massive raids on known criminal flashpoints and hotspots throughout the Territory.

This strategic move, according to FCT Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh, is aimed at dislodging criminal elements and reinforcing the safety of residents. The operations will be intelligence-led, involving stop-and-search activities, targeted patrols, and surveillance to tackle crimes such as robbery, kidnapping, and drug peddling.

Adeh emphasized the Command’s proactive stance in staying ahead of criminal threats and restoring public trust in law enforcement.

CP Adewale urged residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and cooperative with police officers during these operations. He advised the public to maintain civility in their interactions with officers, highlighting that the initiative is solely to ensure their safety.

“Parents and guardians must be more intentional about the whereabouts and behavior of their children and wards to keep them from falling into crime,” Adeh added.

She also called on community leaders, religious heads, and stakeholders to support ongoing efforts by reporting suspicious activities, noting that public cooperation is vital for maintaining a safe society.
