FCTA Warns Illegal Occupants in Three Abuja Communities

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has threatened to demolish illegal structures in Zhidu, Piwoyi, and Peace villages in Abuja’s Institution and Research District.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting, the Director of Development Control, Mukthar Galadima, warned residents about the impending enforcement action.

He stated that while the government aims to act with a “human face,” illegal occupants must vacate the land to avoid demolition.

Galadima expressed concerns that squatters had blocked access to a legitimate estate developer, despite receiving compensation.

The FCTA urged affected individuals to comply with relocation directives to prevent forced eviction.

The announcement has sparked mixed reactions, with some residents calling for alternative housing solutions before any demolition.
