The Federal Government is set to host the first-ever National Charity Ball, an initiative aimed at raising N150 billion to support refugees, migrants, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) across Nigeria.
Known as the Renewed Hope Charity Ball, the event is a collaboration between the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) and Imaginative Ceilings Limited. It will bring together high-profile individuals, corporate leaders, and government officials to raise funds for vulnerable communities.
Scheduled for August or September 2025, the event aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on social welfare and economic empowerment. Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will chair the event, with First Ladies from all 36 states and the FCT serving as co-chairs.
CEO of Imaginative Ceilings Limited, Festus Ofume, described the charity ball as a “movement to mobilize resources for healthcare, education, skills development, and economic empowerment for displaced persons.”
NCFRMI Federal Commissioner, Hon. Aliyu Tijani Ahmed, emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the funds lead to “tangible, life-changing programs to aid resettlement, rehabilitation, and reintegration.”
The event will attract business executives, policymakers, and celebrities, with donations funding both short- and long-term humanitarian projects. The Renewed Hope Charity Ball aims to set a new standard for philanthropy in Nigeria, using entertainment and networking to drive social change.
