Flying Eagles head coach Aliyu Zubairu has expressed his delight after Nigeria’s U-20 team secured a 2-0 victory over Cote d’Ivoire in a friendly match held in Abidjan on Wednesday.

Zubairu described the win as a positive step in the team’s preparation for the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, stressing that the squad is still a work in progress.

“We’re still in the building process, we want a balanced team,” Zubairu said after the match, underlining the importance of testing different tactics and players during friendly games.

The Flying Eagles showed solid organization in defense and sharp finishing in attack, with goals from promising youngsters who are aiming to cement their place in the squad.
