Four Children Abducted in Delta Community

In what has become a harrowing Easter weekend, the Ogwashi Uku community in Aniocha South, Delta State, has been gripped by fear and sorrow following the sudden disappearance of four young girls under mysterious circumstances. The incident, which happened on Friday, has left parents and residents in total shock.

The victims include siblings Ebube Nwafido, 6, and Miracle, 3, along with Chimanda, 7, and Excel, popularly called Tinubu, 5. Their distraught parents are appealing to the public and security agencies to help locate their daughters and bring them home safely.

According to residents of Umuokwe quarters, suspicion has fallen on three unknown women who moved into the area last Monday. These women reportedly posed as tenants looking for accommodation and gradually gained the trust of locals by interacting with neighborhood children.

Mrs. Bose Nwafido, mother of two of the missing girls, recounted a chilling encounter. “It was last Monday, and the three women came asking me for a house to rent… Later, they said they wanted to buy biscuits for the children. That’s how my children went with them,” she said. She returned from the market to find her children gone and the suspects vanished.

Neighbours grew concerned when the children were nowhere to be seen by afternoon. A search led to the room the women had rented, only to discover it was completely empty. Both the alleged abductors and the children had disappeared without a trace.

Delta State Police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the case and said an active investigation is ongoing. Authorities are working to track down the suspects and ensure the safe return of the missing children.
