By Prof. Chris Mustapha Nwaokobia Jnr, has hailed Governor Peter Mbah’s administration as the most remarkable showcase of good governance in Nigeria’s Fourth Republic.
In a press statement issued Thursday, Nwaokobia praised Mbah’s performance as the reason behind what he described as the “unanimous admiration” of Ndi Enugu for their governor’s commitment to fulfilling the promises of democracy.
According to him, “The Peter Mbah-led government has redefined governance in so many ways that the state’s trophy cabinet constantly overflows with accolades. Enugu has become the blueprint for servant-oriented leadership.”
Nwaokobia reeled out a list of achievements under Mbah’s watch, highlighting massive progress in agriculture, infrastructure, education, and healthcare. “Have you seen the Smart Schools across the state? Have you witnessed the new healthcare centres in wards? Or the state’s digital security control center ensuring a synergy among security agencies?” he asked.
He also pointed to the state’s work on the cargo wing of Akanu Ibiam International Airport, the new International Conference Centre, and a five-star hotel project—all part of efforts to position Enugu as a hub for business and leisure.
“Enugu State now leads in pipe-borne water restoration, urban-rural road networks, and digital governance,” he added. “This isn’t just rhetoric—the transformation is visible.”
Nwaokobia noted that within just six months, the administration had topped national charts in healthcare, education, and infrastructure development. “Governor Mbah has been named Governor of the Year. He is delivering on every promise,” he said.
He also referenced the recent political realignment by former opposition candidate Barr. Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party, who has returned to the PDP and praised Mbah’s achievements. “Even his fiercest opponent now stands with him, calling him ‘the man who knows the way,’” Nwaokobia emphasized.
The endorsement by the influential Nsukka leaders further underscored growing support for Mbah. “They acknowledged massive development across all sectors and commended the governor for prioritizing the welfare of Ndi Enugu,” he said.
Despite growing acclaim, Nwaokobia said Mbah remains humble and focused. “He is unmoved by sycophancy. To him, there is no time for distractions. He is committed to making Enugu a world-class state,” he concluded.
