Dr. Shuaib Muhammad Belgore, the ministry’s permanent secretary, confirmed the decision in Abuja. He stated that the revocation follows the terms set in the allocation letters and is part of the government’s efforts to ensure transparency and fairness in housing distribution.
According to Belgore, the revocation only affects individuals who did not meet the payment deadline. Beneficiaries who paid in full by February 28, 2025, remain unaffected and are encouraged to collect their Letters of Allocation to take possession of their homes immediately.
To maintain accountability, the ministry has published a full list of affected individuals on its official website and will release it in major newspapers, including Daily Trust, The Nation, and Pulsewireng, in early April 2025.
Belgore emphasized the ministry’s dedication to providing affordable housing for Nigerians. He explained that revoking unpaid allocations is necessary to streamline the process and ensure that homes are available for those who can comply with the requirements.
Affected individuals are advised to check the list online, refer to the mentioned newspapers, or visit the ministry’s headquarters in Mabushi, Abuja, for further inquiries.
