Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Governor Sule explained that his opposition wasn’t about the idea of tax reforms itself, but about the original content of the bill. He wanted to ensure it was thoroughly discussed before any decisions were made ¹.
The governor feels they’ve achieved their goal, and that’s why he’s now supporting the bill. He’s happy with how the House of Representatives, especially the speaker, has handled the issue. Governor Sule also commended the lawmakers for allowing further review of the bill, which has led to a more thorough scrutiny of it.
So, what changed? Essentially, the governor’s concerns were heard, and the bill was revised to address those concerns. Now, he’s on board with the revised bill.
