By Guala Closures, a global leader in the production of closures for the beverage and edible oil industries, has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in the Lagos Free Zone, marking its official entry into the West African market.
The facility, described as a greenfield investment, was unveiled at a ceremony attended by key figures including Ugo Boni, Consul General of Italy in Lagos; Adesuwa Ladoja, CEO of Lagos Free Zone; and Andrea Lodetti, CEO of Guala Closures. The company says the new site will serve as a hub for supplying advanced safety closures to West African markets, particularly targeting the spirits sector.
“This investment underscores our commitment to advancing in the African market and creating value for our partners,” said CEO Andrea Lodetti. “By leveraging cutting-edge technologies and maintaining a strong focus on product quality and safety, we aim to enhance brand identity while offering robust protection against counterfeiting – an increasingly critical issue in the industry.”
The Nigerian facility will manufacture anti-counterfeiting closures tailored for local market demands. Guala Closures emphasized that this move reinforces its strategy of combining global reach with local responsiveness, bringing customized packaging solutions closer to clients in emerging markets.
