Guardiola Highlights Real Madrid’s Advantage Ahead of Champions League Clash

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has pointed out the advantage Real Madrid holds over his team as they prepare for their two-legged Champions League play-off encounter. The first leg will take place at the Etihad Stadium today, with the second leg scheduled at Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu.

Guardiola, who has extensive experience playing and managing against Real Madrid during his time at Barcelona, expressed his preference for having the second leg at home. He emphasized the importance of home support, especially if the tie goes into extra time or penalties after 180 minutes of play.

Reflecting on the challenge, Guardiola admitted that finishing 22nd in the standings had put his team in a tough position. Speaking to the press on Tuesday, he said, “To be honest, it is always better to have a second leg at home in case you have extra time with your people.”

The highly anticipated clash promises to be a thrilling encounter as both teams vie for a spot in the next round of the Champions League.
