Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Ihima, Kogi State, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. The incident, confirmed in a Thursday statement from her media office in Abuja, was swiftly repelled by members of the Civil Defence Corps and vigilant community members.
According to her spokesperson, Isreal Arogbonlo, the attackers had wrongly assumed the suspended senator was at the residence during the assault.
“Two days ago, my younger brother took some contractors to my hometown in Ihima to inspect locations for upcoming projects I attracted to my senatorial district,” Senator Natasha explained. “The unknown gunmen assumed I was the one in town and attacked my family house that night.”
She expressed relief that no one was injured during the incident and confirmed that a report has been filed with the police area command.
Her media team urged the public to stay calm while justice is pursued, stating, “Her commitment to truth and effective representation should never be answered with violence or intimidation.”
