The International Press Institute (IPI) Nigeria has appointed a host of prominent media professionals and public figures to its standing committees, aimed at advancing press freedom and responsible journalism in the country.
In a statement issued in Abuja by IPI Nigeria President Musikilu Mojeed, the institute unveiled the composition of four vital committees: Fundraising, Programming, Advocacy, and Membership.
Key Appointees Include:
Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information
Garba Shehu, ex-presidential aide
Funke Egbemode, former NGE president
Emma Agu, ex-MD, Champion Newspapers
Gbemiga Ogunleye, former NIJ Provost
Committee Chairs:
Fundraising: Funke Egbemode
Programming: Oladotun Oladipo (The Eagle Online)
Advocacy: Tobi Soniyi (Media Adviser to CJN)
Membership: Ruqayyah Yusuf Aliyu (Associate Professor, BUK)
Each committee includes top editors, academics, and media experts tasked with driving IPI Nigeria’s mission. Their responsibilities span mobilizing resources, developing impactful programmes, campaigning for press rights, and growing membership.
