Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter has filed a defamation lawsuit against a woman who previously accused him of rape — a claim she later withdrew.
In court documents filed in Alabama, where the woman (identified only as Jane Doe) resides, Jay-Z’s legal team described the accusation as “soullessly motivated by greed” and said the false claims caused serious damage to his personal and professional reputation.
The withdrawn complaint had also linked Jay-Z to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who is currently facing his own legal troubles.
Jay-Z’s lawsuit is part of an ongoing pushback against what his lawyers call “malicious and baseless attacks” aimed at exploiting his wealth and fame.
The case highlights the increasing legal battles celebrities face over false allegations spread online.
