Head coach Thiago Motta after less than a season in charge, replacing him with former player Igor Tudor. The Italian side announced the decision on Sunday.
“Juventus FC announce that Thiago Motta has been relieved of his duties as men’s first team coach,” the club stated. Tudor will take charge of his first training session on Monday, March 24.
Motta’s dismissal comes after back-to-back heavy defeats—a 4-0 loss to Atalanta and a 3-0 defeat at Fiorentina. Juventus now sit fifth in Serie A, struggling to secure a Champions League spot.
Tudor, a former Juve defender, played 174 games for the club before transitioning into management. He previously coached Verona, Marseille, and Lazio and is now tasked with salvaging Juve’s season.
Despite high expectations following his success with Bologna, Motta’s reign was disappointing. His team struggled offensively, managed 13 league draws, and was eliminated from the Champions League and Coppa Italia.
Juventus acknowledged Motta’s efforts, stating, “The club would like to thank Thiago Motta and all of his staff for their professionalism and dedication over the past months.”
