Hon. Amos Gwamna Magaji, who represents Jaba/Zangon Kataf Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Magaji’s defection was announced in a letter read by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen during Tuesday’s plenary session. He cited unresolved crises within the PDP at all levels as his reason for switching parties.
His move brings the total number of PDP lawmakers who have defected to APC in the 10th House of Representatives to four, joining Chris Nkwonta (Abia), Eriatheke Ibori-Suenu (Delta), and Suleiman Gumi (Zamfara).
However, PDP Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda opposed the defection, calling on Speaker Abbas to declare Magaji’s seat vacant.
