Abuja, Nigeria – Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has dedicated his ‘Governor of the Year’ award to vulnerable children in rural areas, reaffirming his commitment to inclusive governance and accessible education.
The award was presented at the 17th LEADERSHIP Conference and Awards held at the Old Banquet Hall, State House, Abuja. In his acceptance speech, Governor Yusuf stated that the recognition would serve as motivation for leaders to strengthen democracy and improve citizens’ welfare.
“This award will push us to do more—to ensure democracy, provide free education, increase school enrollment, and distribute academic materials at no cost,” Governor Yusuf declared. He emphasized his administration’s focus on bridging the educational gap between urban and rural communities.
The LEADERSHIP Conference and Awards, organized by Pulsewireng Newspapers Group, honors outstanding individuals and institutions in governance, business, entertainment, and civil society. The event brought together dignitaries, policymakers, and industry leaders from across Nigeria.
Governor Yusuf reassured the people of Kano State that his government remains dedicated to grassroots development, ensuring children in underserved areas receive quality education and better learning opportunities.
