Kano Police Disrupt Planned Violent Protest

The Kano State Police Command has disrupted a planned protest and arrested 17 suspected thugs accused of attempting to stage a violent demonstration.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, confirmed that security measures were in place to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

He revealed that credible intelligence led to swift action by the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, to thwart the protest before it escalated.

“In response to reports of a planned violent protest, the command deployed personnel and assets to strategic locations across Kano Metropolis to ensure public safety,” Kiyawa stated.

The arrested suspects are currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of their involvement in the plot.

Authorities have assured residents that security forces remain vigilant and ready to prevent any acts that could threaten peace and stability in the state.
