Kano Traffic Officer Dies After Being Thrown from Moving Truck

Rewritten Human-Style News Report:

A tragic incident unfolded in Kano on Thursday morning as Yahaya Isma’il Idris, an officer of the Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA), lost his life after allegedly being pushed out of a moving truck.

The fatal event occurred around 4:30 a.m. along Maiduguri Road while Idris was on night duty. According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, who shared the report via X (formerly Twitter), the 35-year-old officer had intercepted a truck loaded with goods for a routine inspection.

The vehicle, a truck with registration number BWR 457 XC, was being driven by Yakubu Abdulsalam, 25, from Fika LGA, Yobe State. He was accompanied by two passengers — Tunde Momodu, 31, from Edo State, and Sagir Yusuf, 21, from Bichi LGA in Kano.

Makama stated that when the driver failed to produce a waybill, Idris boarded the truck for further checks. However, the driver allegedly sped off, and as they approached the Muhammadu Buhari Interchange flyover, the officer was reportedly pushed out of the moving vehicle.

Idris sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, where he was later confirmed dead.

The case is under investigation, and the suspects are currently in custody.
