Kogi University Seeks Investors for Hostels

The Vice-Chancellor of Kogi State University (KSU) Kabba, Professor Kehinde Eniola, has called for private investors to partner with the institution in building student hostels.

Speaking at the university’s second matriculation ceremony, he explained that the project would follow a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, allowing investors to build, operate, and later transfer the facilities.

Eniola highlighted that the rising student population and high cost of living have made accommodation expensive in the university community.

For the 2024/2025 academic session, KSU is matriculating 1,060 students across various faculties, further increasing the demand for on-campus housing.

The vice-chancellor also urged the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) to support the university with infrastructural development, noting that its current structures were inherited from the former Kogi State College of Technical Education.

He assured that the partnership would ensure accountability while providing affordable and quality accommodation for students.
