Kwara Govt Upgrades Omu-Aran Hospital to Teaching Facility for TAU

The Kwara State government has signed an agreement to upgrade the Omu-Aran General Hospital in Irepodun LGA into a teaching hospital for medical students of Thomas Adewumi University (TAU), Oko-Irese.

The signing ceremony brought together top government officials, traditional rulers, academics, and other stakeholders.

Kwara’s Commissioner for Health, Dr. Aminat El-Imam, described the initiative as a milestone in strengthening the state’s healthcare system. She praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s commitment to development, citing his recruitment of 1,005 health workers, facility upgrades, and plans for a state teaching hospital.

The Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Ismail Alebiosu, hailed the governor’s impact on Kwara South, mentioning projects like the Osi Campus of KWASU and major roadworks.

TAU founder, Dr. Thomas Adewumi, expressed gratitude to the governor, calling the upgrade a landmark achievement that benefits the region.
