The Labour Party (LP) has paid tribute to the late Afenifere leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, describing him as a fearless statesman who dedicated his life to justice and progressive governance.
In a statement issued by Marcel Ngogbehei, Director General of the Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration, the party praised Adebanjo’s unwavering commitment to democracy, the rule of law, and the restructuring of Nigeria. He was hailed as a firm supporter of the Labour Party’s vision for a new Nigeria.
Ngogbehei emphasized that Adebanjo’s lifelong struggle was centered on building a just and equitable nation. His influence extended beyond politics, as he remained a vocal advocate for good governance and fairness throughout his life.
“With a deep sense of loss but immense gratitude to God for a life well spent, we at the Labour Party Directorate of Mobilization and Integration extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Yoruba race, the leadership and members of Afenifere, and Nigerians at large,” the statement read.
