By The General Manager of Lagos Traffic Radio, Tayo Akanle, has been inducted as a Special Traffic Mayor of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), becoming the first head of a government agency to receive the honor.
Speaking at the ceremony, LASTMA GM Olalekan Bakare-Oki—represented by Jimi Awoyemi, Director of Advocacy and Special Traffic Mayor Department—praised Akanle’s role in transportation advocacy and road safety through the radio station’s efforts.
Akanle expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating it would motivate him and his team to enhance their support for the state’s transportation agenda under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus initiative.
He also called on LASTMA to induct more media professionals, particularly long-serving Lagos Traffic Radio staff, for their dedication to helping residents navigate the city’s roads.
