Amos Gwamna Magaji, has defended his decision to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming Southern Kaduna has gained more under APC leadership.
Magaji, who represents the Zangon Kataf/Jaba constituency in the 10th National Assembly, said his move was aimed at securing better opportunities for his people. According to him, his constituency has long suffered from political neglect.
Speaking to journalists, Magaji, who also chairs the House Committee on Health, alleged that Southern Kaduna had been sidelined in terms of federal and state-level support because it was not aligned with the ruling party.
“They don’t give us much attention because we do not belong to their party. By the way, Southern Kaduna has benefited more from the APC government in terms of federal appointments than what the PDP had ever done,” he stated.
He also accused the PDP of treating him unfairly, suggesting that his decision to switch parties was based on personal and political reasons.
Magaji insisted that his defection was in the best interest of his constituency, assuring his supporters that they would see more development under APC leadership.
