Beneficiaries, selected from all 21 local government areas, had secured admission into higher institutions but lacked the financial means to continue their education.
At the fund disbursement ceremony at Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Governor Nasir Idris, represented by Deputy Governor Senator Abubakar Umar Tafida, praised Jega’s generosity.
The governor urged other wealthy individuals to follow suit in supporting education for underprivileged students.
He also advised beneficiaries to use the funds responsibly and focus on their studies to secure a brighter future.
The initiative is expected to improve access to higher education and empower young people in Kebbi State.
