Makinde Urges Muslims To Pray, Reflect

As Muslims across Nigeria begin the holy month of Ramadan, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has urged the faithful to rededicate themselves to Allah and use the sacred month to pray for his administration, the state, and the nation.

The governor’s message came after the official sighting of the crescent moon, marking the start of Ramadan on March 1, 2025. In his goodwill message, Makinde congratulated Muslims for witnessing another opportunity to seek Allah’s mercy and blessings.

He emphasized that Ramadan is not just about fasting but also about deepening personal faith, showing kindness to others, and promoting unity within communities. “This is a time to strengthen our connection with Allah and extend love and compassion to our neighbors,” the governor said.

Makinde also urged Muslims to remember Oyo State and Nigeria in their prayers, asking for divine guidance and prosperity for the land. “We are facing challenging times, and your prayers and dedication to positive actions will help us overcome these difficulties,” he added.

The governor concluded by wishing all Muslims a successful and peaceful Ramadan, expressing hope that the spiritual exercise will bring blessings to families, communities, and the entire state.

As the month progresses, Islamic leaders in Oyo are also expected to hold prayer sessions and community outreach programs to promote peace and religious harmony across the state.
