Both teams struggled to create clear chances in a dull first half at Old Trafford, with little excitement for the crowd under the bright Manchester sun.
The second half saw some improvement, as City’s Omar Marmoush tested United goalkeeper Andre Onana with a powerful 25-yard strike, forcing a spectacular save.
United’s best chance came from Joshua Zirkzee, whose half-volley midway through the second half forced Ederson into a brilliant two-handed stop.
With the draw, City missed a key opportunity to strengthen their top-four hopes, while United’s underwhelming season continued with another frustrating result.
