NANS Demands Student Representation in NELFUND Board Meetings

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has insisted on student representation in the upcoming Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) board meetings.

In a letter addressed to NELFUND’s Managing Director and Board Chairman, Mr. Jim Ovia, NANS made it clear that no meeting should hold without student involvement.

Titled “Final Demand for Students’ Representation in the Scheduled NELFUND Board Meeting, No Student, No Meeting,” the letter was signed by NANS President, Comrade Lucky Emonefe.

Emonefe stressed the importance of having students at the decision-making table, as the loan scheme directly affects them.

He also urged the board to respond promptly, emphasizing that student voices must be heard in shaping policies related to their education.

The demand signals growing student advocacy for transparency and inclusion in Nigeria’s education financing system.
