Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has dismissed the suspended chairman and members of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) over a recruitment scandal.
The decision came after an investigative committee found the commission’s leadership guilty of serious misconduct during the hiring process.
According to findings, the TSC officials disregarded the governor’s instruction to recruit 1,000 teachers and instead inflated the figure to 3,000.
Reports also revealed that job seekers were forced to pay large sums of money in exchange for appointment letters.
The scandal has sparked outrage among applicants who were deceived into believing they had secured legitimate teaching jobs.
Governor Sule assured residents that necessary reforms would be implemented to prevent future irregularities in the education sector.
