The Nigerian Academy of Engineering (NAE) has recognized the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) for its outstanding contributions to engineering and research in Nigeria. NASENI was celebrated for developing the country’s first made-in-Nigeria helicopter, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for agriculture and security, and an electronic voting system aimed at addressing electoral challenges.
Prof. Mohammed Sani Haruna, NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman, received the award at the Metropolitan Club in Lagos and stated that the recognition will inspire NASENI to continue driving innovation. Other organizations, including Globacom, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Airtel, and MTN Nigeria, were also honoured for their contributions to Nigeria’s development.
