The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has released ₦10 billion to the Niger Delta Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Trade, Mines, and Agriculture (NDCCITMA) to stimulate entrepreneurship and economic growth in the region.

Announcing the fund’s release during the inauguration of NDCCITMA’s Board of Directors in Port Harcourt, NDDC Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, represented by Executive Director of Finance and Administration Alabo Boma Iyaye, noted that this was the first installment of the ₦30 billion investment promised by the commission.

“The commission will be investing ₦30 billion in the Enterprise Development scheme, managed by NDCCITMA, to support nano, micro, and small-scale entrepreneurs in the region,” Ogbuku stated.

He added that 5,000 businesses had been approved to kickstart the initiative and urged all NDDC contractors to register with NDCCITMA by July 31, 2025, for continued patronage.

NDCCITMA Board Chairman Ambassador Idaere Ogan reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to driving economic transformation in the Niger Delta, stating that the initiative would foster job creation, skills development, and export growth.
