NDIC Assures Depositors of Bank Safety

The Managing Director of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Bello Hassan, has reassured Nigerians that their money remains safe in banks under the corporation’s strict regulatory framework.

Speaking at the NDIC’s Special Day during the 46th Kaduna International Trade Fair, Hassan, represented by Kano Zonal Office Area Controller Ahmed Umar, emphasized that depositors have nothing to fear when saving their money in the country’s banks.

He highlighted NDIC’s over three decades of commitment to securing depositors’ funds and maintaining public confidence in the financial sector. He stressed that the corporation remains dedicated to protecting the most vulnerable customers, who would be most affected by any financial instability.

“The NDIC is committed to ensuring a stable financial environment that safeguards depositors and builds public confidence, enabling businesses to thrive and contribute to our nation’s economic development,” Hassan stated.

He further noted that NDIC’s role extends beyond deposit protection, as it also strengthens the financial system by ensuring banks adhere to best practices and regulatory standards.

With these assurances, the NDIC aims to encourage more Nigerians to embrace banking services without fear of losing their hard-earned savings.
