NEDC Shares Food Aid in Yobe

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has distributed food items, including rice, sugar, and spaghetti, to hundreds of residents in Yobe State to ease economic hardship during the holy month of Ramadan.

Hon. Nuhu Baba Hassan, the NEDC focal person in Yobe, supervised the distribution across different communities, targeting individuals, groups, and associations in need. He stated that the initiative was part of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s humanitarian efforts to support vulnerable citizens.

“The items include bags of rice, sugar, vegetable oil, and cartons of spaghetti. This is aimed at providing relief, especially for the less privileged during this period,” Hassan told journalists in Damaturu.

He acknowledged that while the food aid cannot reach everyone, he encouraged well-meaning individuals and organizations to assist in supporting the needy. He urged recipients to use the items wisely to mitigate economic difficulties.

To ensure a fair and organized distribution, the governor approved the supply of foodstuffs to communities throughout the state. The initiative was designed to help Muslim residents celebrate Eid-el-Fitr without financial stress.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the state government for the gesture, offering prayers for Governor Buni while calling for continued support for struggling households.
