Nigeria Unveils 17-Athlete Squad for 2025 World Relays in China

Team Nigeria will send a 17-athlete contingent to the 2025 World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou, China, slated for next month. The squad includes eight male and nine female athletes, all set to compete across the men’s and women’s 4x100m, as well as the mixed 4x100m and 4x400m relay events.

Leading the charge in the men’s 4x100m are Favour Ashe, Alaba Akintola, Karlington Anunagba, Udodi Onwuzurike, Fola Olaoye, and Usheoritse Itsekiri.

For the women’s 4x100m, the team boasts star sprinters such as Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma, Tobi Amusan, Umukoro Success, Tiana Eyakpobeyan, and Jennifer Chukwuka.

Nigeria will also feature in the mixed 4x100m relay, with Chukwuma, Ofili, Success, Ashe, Akintola, and Onwuzurike forming the dynamic lineup.

In the mixed 4x400m relay, seasoned athletes like Patience Okon George, Omolara Ogunmakinju, Chidi Okezie, Samson Nathaniel, and Emmanuel Ojeli are set to represent the country.

With a balanced mix of youth and experience, Nigeria will be aiming for podium finishes and qualification for the Paris 2025 World Championships.
