Nigeria’s para-badminton team has arrived in Toledo, Spain, for the second phase of the prestigious Spanish Para-Badminton International Elite Championship. The tournament gathers top para-athletes from around the world, and Team Nigeria is ready to make its mark.
After a successful outing in Vitoria, where Paralympic medalist Eniola Bolaji won gold in the SL3 category, the team is determined to continue its winning streak. Bolaji’s victory over Ukraine’s Oksana Kozyna in the finals solidified her status as a top contender.
The Nigerian squad for this phase includes Eniola Bolaji, currently ranked No. 2 in the world in SL3, along with Eze Chukwuebuka and Nnana Jeremiah, who will compete in the SL4 doubles category.
A spokesperson for the Nigeria Badminton Federation expressed confidence in the team’s potential, stating, “We’re very hopeful for medals. Eniola is one of the seeded players, and we trust in her ability to make Nigeria proud. The same goes for our doubles team.”
