Northern Elders Praise Tinubu on Security

Bello Matawalle, and Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, for improving security in the North-West.

The group noted that most towns and villages in the region celebrated Eid-el-Fitr peacefully, with fewer bandit attacks compared to previous years, except for minor incidents in parts of Sokoto and Zamfara.

A statement signed by the group’s secretary, Dr. Adamu Lawal Giwa, highlighted the success of Operation Fansa Yamma, which destroyed several bandit hideouts in the region.

“Improved security has made traveling and trading safer, especially along major routes like Sokoto-Gusau-Kano. Reports of large bandit groups attacking or kidnapping people have also reduced,” the statement read.

The group acknowledged the military’s relentless efforts in Zamfara, Sokoto, and Katsina, praising Minister Matawalle for boosting troops’ morale and General Musa for leading coordinated operations.

While some villages in Sokoto, Katsina, Kebbi, and Zamfara still face sporadic attacks, the group believes the government’s strategy is working and urged continued support for security forces.
