Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for a thorough investigation into the incident, which allegedly involved NSCDC officers extorting a young man traveling from Ekiti to Akure, Ondo State.
In a statement released by NSCDC spokesperson Babawale Afolabi, Dr Audi condemned the officers’ actions, labeling them “unprofessional” and a violation of the Corps’ ethical standards.
“This is a breach of public trust and contrary to the values we uphold,” Dr Audi stated. He further ordered the transfer of the accused officers to the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja for detention pending a disciplinary investigation.
He assured Nigerians that “any officer found culpable will face the full weight of disciplinary action as stipulated by law,” emphasizing the Corps’ zero tolerance for corruption and misconduct.
Dr Audi also urged the public to continue supporting the NSCDC, noting that “the unprofessional behavior of a few must not define the Corps.
