NSCDC Partners Indigenous Groups for FCT Security

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has pledged to collaborate with indigenous communities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to enhance security.

FCT Commandant Dr. Olusola Odumosu made this known during a meeting with the FCT Indigenous Community Security Committee and Welfare, which proposed a partnership to address safety concerns across the territory’s six area councils.

Commending the initiative, Dr. Odumosu described the group’s efforts as patriotic and assured them of the NSCDC’s readiness to engage in intelligence-sharing and coordinated security operations.

“Security is a collective responsibility,” he stated, emphasizing the need for confidentiality, swift action, and cooperation among agencies to tackle security threats effectively.

Amb. Yamzak Emmanuel, president of the FCT Indigenous Community Security Committee, highlighted rising security challenges, including kidnappings, and urged authorities to act swiftly. He reaffirmed the group’s commitment to providing reliable intelligence to support security efforts.
