NSJID Awards Set for March 7 in Lagos

The Nigeria Sports Journalists in Diaspora (NSJID) has announced that its award ceremony will now take place on March 7, with former NFF Secretary General Dr. Bolaji Ojo-Oba named as chairman of the event.

Originally scheduled for February 22, the event was postponed due to logistical reasons, as interest in the awards continues to grow.

According to the organizing committee chairman, Gboyega Okegbenro, the prestigious awards will recognize excellence in grassroots sports journalism.

A total of N2 million in prize money will be shared across four highly competitive categories: Print Journalism, TV Broadcasting, Radio Broadcasting, and Online/Social Media.

With nominations closing next Friday, anticipation is building for what promises to be a thrilling competition among the industry’s best.

The award ceremony in Lagos aims to celebrate and elevate the contributions of sports journalists shaping the future of Nigerian sports reporting.
