Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, has announced that corps members will start receiving a new monthly allowance of ₦77,000 from March 2025.
Speaking on Thursday during a visit to NYSC Zonal Offices in Wuse and Garki, Abuja, Nafiu reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to corps members’ welfare. He assured them that their well-being remains a top priority and that the NYSC would continue to support them.
The Director-General praised the dedication and discipline of corps members, urging them to remain focused and committed to national service. He also expressed gratitude to the founding fathers of the NYSC for establishing a program that promotes unity, cultural exchange, and leadership development among Nigerian graduates.
“The NYSC is committed to building bridges across ethnic divides and exposing young graduates to diverse cultural experiences. With effect from March, you will receive ₦77,000 as your monthly allowance. The nation appreciates your service,” he stated.
Nafiu emphasized that the NYSC maintains accurate records and assured corps members that their payments would be made promptly. He also encouraged them to uphold values of patriotism, discipline, and teamwork throughout their service year.
In response, a corps member, Zaka Deborah Alheri, speaking on behalf of her colleagues in Garki Zone, thanked the Director-General for ensuring the implementation of the new allowance, expressing excitement over the financial boost.
