Oyebanji Pledges More Appointments for Muslims

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has assured the Muslim community of increased representation in his administration. He expressed gratitude for their support and prayers, emphasizing that their contributions have played a key role in maintaining peace and development in the state.

The governor made this promise while joining Muslim leaders and faithful for Iftar at the Government House in Ado-Ekiti. He praised the dedication of Muslims in his cabinet, stating that their number would not decrease but instead grow as his tenure progresses. “When the SSG reeled out the number of Muslims in our government, it cannot be less than that, it can only be more,” he assured.

Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, commended Oyebanji’s commitment to inclusivity. She highlighted that over 50 Muslims currently hold positions in government, reflecting the governor’s dedication to equitable representation. She added that his efforts have strengthened unity among religious groups.

In separate remarks, key Muslim leaders, including Rt. Hon. Hakeem Jamiu and Dr. Hameed Bakare, lauded the governor’s inclusiveness. They pledged continued support for his administration and vowed to mobilize the Muslim community to ensure his re-election for another term.

Alhaji Jamiu Kewulere, President of the League of Imams and Alfa, led prayers for the governor, describing him as a leader committed to fairness and equality. He acknowledged Oyebanji’s unprecedented support for the Muslim community as a historic step toward true inclusivity.

The event was attended by top government officials, including the Chief of Staff, Mr. Niyi Adebayo, and former Senator Babafemi Ojudu. The governor reiterated his commitment to appointing more Muslims and fostering religious harmony in the state.
