As preparations for the 2025 Valentine’s Day celebration continue, the Oyo State government has announced that 12,128 hospitality businesses have been registered across the state.
Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, revealed this during a press briefing at the Eleyele Waterfront in Ibadan. He stated that the registration aims to ensure proper monitoring and coordination of activities during the celebrations.
The number of registered establishments, including hotels, nightclubs, event centers, restaurants, and tour operators, has grown significantly from 1,328 in 2019 to 12,128 in 2025. Olatunbosun attributed this growth to the investor-friendly environment created by Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.
