PANDEF Claims Plot Against Akpabio, Tinubu

Senate President Godswill Akpabio from office using sexual harassment allegations. The group claims the accusations by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan are politically motivated.

In a statement signed by its national publicity secretary, Chief Obiuwevbi Ominimini, PANDEF alleged that the scandal is part of a broader scheme aimed at destabilizing the South and blocking President Bola Tinubu from securing a second term in 2027.

According to PANDEF, the allegations against Akpabio are only the first phase of a larger northern political strategy. The group insists it is the South’s turn to retain the presidency in 2027, following the North’s eight-year rule under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

PANDEF referenced a recent statement by the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) spokesperson, describing it as a clear sign that the North is preparing to reclaim power. The group warned that this unfolding political battle is not just about Akpabio but an attack on the entire Southern region.

The group further accused certain northern political interests of deliberately stoking division to pit the North against the Tinubu administration, all in a bid to shift power back to the North in the next general election.

PANDEF called on Southerners to remain united and resist any moves to destabilize the region’s political leadership. The group also urged President Tinubu to stand firm against what it called a “coordinated political ambush.”
